Where's the money go?
50% of every dollar received, from the sale of the first item,
is given away to organizations who advocate for and help the victims
of the war in Iraq--both domestically and in Iraq.
Yes, that means when you purchase a bumper sticker for $3.00, half
of that ($1.50) will be donated directly to the organization.
At the startup, these funds are being given to the Iraqi
Children's Art Project and Gold Star Families for Peace.
The original impetus was to help those victimized by the war. One
organization, the Iraqi Children's Art Project is, like the Peace
Ribbon, a locally-based, grassroots effort. Its mission is to raise
awareness of and compassion for the innocent Iraqi people across
the United States, through the eyes of Iraqi children. Gold
Star Families for Peace, the organization found by Cindy Sheehan,
assists families who have been impacted by the war.
We invite your input in identifying other worthy organizations
in need of support and will monitor our choices regularly as world
events change and needs shift. Please contact
us with your thoughts.
The remaining 50% will be used to cover startup costs, and beyond
that will be reinvested into the project. Our long-term goal is
to increase the percentage of donated funds to greater than 50%.
